I'm sure you've all heard the saying "when you assume something you make a you-know-what out of you and me"
Let's just say 'donkey' could sometimes be my middle name.
I've done what I swore I'd never do -- forgot what it's like to be a 'newbie' with a new technology. So from time to time, I forge ahead with what I think is a beginner-level concept, without properly giving the necessary background knowledge. It's almost like I've forgotten in my short 14 month hiatus from the classroom what it's like to have *gasp* a wide range of learners in a class.
Well let me tell you -- from this moment on, I promise to never forget again. As a new school year fast approaches, my workshop and traveling schedule is also looming and with it many beginner - advanced SMART Board workshops. Since I would like things to run as smoothly as possible, I thought it was high time that I took my own advice, stopped making assumptions, and started making sure that 'we', collectively, are all starting at the same point.
And so I bring to you the very first key essential in preparing to attend a SMART Notebook workshop led by moi. [Or someone else if you're not interested in attending mine. *sniff* That's OK. *sniff* It will only hurt my feelings for a little while]
Download SMART Notebook Software
Click on the following link to go to SMART's "downloads" page, then follow the steps below http://smarttech.com/us/

The next steps are pretty self explanatory: fill out a form, you'll be prompted where you want to save, the installation process will walk you through the steps and you'll be asked to restart your computer.
One quick, but very important thing to remember if you wish to get the most out of Notebook software:
** Make sure that you say "Yes" to downloading the entire Gallery and Lesson Toolkit 2.0 -- you'll want to have all of the items available for you to use **
