Yes, I'm very much aware that today is Tuesday, July 13th, which, incidentally, means it's NOT Friday...
What can I say...between loading VMWare Fusion on my Mac so I can run Windows virtually, and our office switching to Google apps, I was apparently tied up with technology and didn't exactly post my interactive website review on time.
Either that, or I'm having "teacher burnout sympathy pains" for my former colleagues. Did I mention that this is my first official summer not being a teacher?
Anyhoo, onto a quick interactive website review. Today's Fresh Look Fridays feature website is "Weather Activities" brought to you by the good folks at EdHeads. I LOVE EdHeads activities -- I'm pretty sure I've reviewed one of their sites before. If I haven't, I should have! They're smart, funny and very educational, with wonderful interactive activities for upper elementary and junior high kids.
In their weather section, students can learn all about how to read a weather map, as well as how to predict 3-day weather trends for a region.
*Note* this is an American site, but Canadian kids can still learn something too!
It is fun, easy to follow, and a great small group activity on a SMART Board. Alberta teachers -- use this for your Grade 5 Science unit on Weather!
