I thought I'd share a little known fact about me with my PLN today. I. Love. Baseball.
Yup! Apparently, I should have been an American (combined with the fact that my birthday is the Fourth of July, it seems that if I wasn't destined to be the Queen of England, I was destined to live south of the 49th parallel).
For the record, I love ALL sports -- either as a spectating sport or as one that I actually play. But baseball is one of my absolute faves to watch. It should come as no surprise then that I married a baseball player, or that we spend 75% of our vacations planning around watching a baseball game, or that we included 2 games of MLB playoffs in our honeymoon travel.
I know. I should get a wife of the year award, or something.
So when the sad news appeared on Twitter yesterday that George Steinbrenner had passed away, I immediately felt that I was among those fans grieving in New York. Don't worry, Derek Jeter, I'll give you a shoulder to cry on ;)
The news also sparked a resurgence of another love of mine - Seinfeld. What a classic sitcom! Oh, how I could go on and on with legendary lines from that show: "Say Vandalay Industries! Say Vandalay Industries!" "And you want to be my latex salesman" "She eats her peas, one at a time" "Dolores!" "You're bald!" "No soup for you!" "I'm out there, Jerry and I'm loving every minute of it!"
But I digress.
For those diehard Seinfeld lovers (@bircherd and @zaltech, just to name 2 Canadian Seinfeld lovers from my PLN), Twitter was set aflutter with reminiscings of George Steinbrenner's character on Seinfeld.
I mean, really, does it get any better? Two classics -- Steinbrenner and Seinfeld -- combined?!? For those who share my love of the 2 aforementioned topics, please enjoy a little tribute to Mr. Steinbrenner (voiced by Larry David), via Seinfeld clips:

The Calzone
Mr. Morgan Doesn't Sign The Card
Ahhh. Great memories.
RIP Mr. Steinbrenner.
Vanessa :)
