Ahh summer -- that blissful time of the year that conjures up thoughts of puppies frolicking through the grass, lemonade stands and lounging by the pool.
Maybe if I move to Arizona.
I mean c'mon Calgary, it's about flipping time we got some nice, hot, sunny weather! Beach volleyball season is upon us and I've yet to play in less than 14 layers this past month!
Summer is also the time when school is out for 2 WHOLE MONTHS! Isn't that the reason we all got into teaching in the first place? (If I hear one more non-educator make that statement, I can't be held liable for my reaction...)
With the little darlings running amok, free from the confines of the classroom, parents are suddenly thrust into the role of child-minding from 9:00-3:30. I couldn't resist some commentary on that topic:

PS, most parents feel differently about the 2 months off after they have spent 2 months 24/7 with their sweetie pies.
