Ahem. Onto today's blog post.

It has been awhile since I commited to sharing some of my Notebook files with the fabulous community on the SMART Exchange.  I decided that it was time I changed that, so I've uploaded a new activity for you to download.  I should really do this more often -- I've got a million different lessons/activities for K-12, all subject areas!

Anyway, here's a new one for now, entitled "Africa - Where is...?"

Essentially, I created a bunch of these different Notebook files for students to get a better understanding of where countries are in relation to other countries.  Yes, I taught Social Studies and yes, Social is NOT all about maps.

But let's face it...without having a basic understanding of geography, it's hard to intelligently debate the effects that one country's actions can have on another.

Use this file as either an introductory activity (see how many countries students can label in Africa then check to see if they're correct) or as a review game for a small group at the SMART Board.
