My apologies for not getting this up yesterday. I was leading a fantastic professional development workshop on intermediate SMART Board use with about 35 teachers at G.S. Lakie Middle School in Lethbridge, AB. It was a fun day but in the midst of everything I forgot to "publish" this post :)
Today's website comes via my PLN, specifically Tina (@nocturne4342). I put a call out a few days ago for some "good" interactive Math websites for elementary students. My initial intent was to gather a few trial runs of how valuable Twitter can be as a source for resources -- I'm leading a session on that exact topic at SMART's C3 User Conference next weekend. Instead, I found some excellent websites worthy of a Fresh Look Fridays post.
Algebraic Reasoning is a fun game that challenges students to find out the weight of a specific object in a given scenario. It takes applying some basic skills that they already have to come up with the correct answer.
Each level gets progressively harder, making this a great game for a small group of students to collaborate on -- specifically around an IWB.
Thanks again, Tina! Have a great weekend, everyone!
