Commentary from a Mac Convert - (09-08-2010)

Yes. I'll admit it.  I was once a PC, but now I'm a Mac.

But that doesn't mean that I don't feel more comfortable in Microsoft Office, or Adobe or Windows XP.  In fact, I even have VM Ware Fusion on my MacBook Pro in order to run Windows virtually.  This is for 2 reasons: 1.) I need to be able to 'flip' back and forth with ease in workshops with teachers running Windows and Mac operating systems.  2.) It's my security blanket, for I was raised in a Windows world.

Even though I spend 80% of my time now in the Mac environment, I still automatically go to the top, right-hand corner of my screen to shrink, enlarge or exit an application.

But I definitely don't miss that pesky Windows System Tray!  And lo and behold, I actually found a comic that relays what I've been feeling all these years.

Enjoy  :)

Great comic and glad to see that you are a Mac convert :) I have been back and forth over the years (college years I was a PC) but I have to say, I am so comfortable in everything Mac, I can't imagine going back!

Hi Vanessa. I, too, am a Mac convert. I was always a PC person and, in fact, was pretty anti-Mac! I was persuaded to buy a Macbook Pro just over a year ago and haven't looked back since. I did buy Fusion to run Windows too, but I haven't even installed it. I've now started putting Macs into our school, and I'm now starting to look for the close buttons etc on the left where it is on the Mac!

Actually I'm very happy to be providing our students with the opportunity to use both the Mac & the Windows platforms.

A classroom educator for 10 years, I’m now thrilled to be working full time training teachers and helping them integrate technology into their classrooms.

Originally from Calgary, I’m thrilled to be living and working in British Columbia and starting to get to know the fabulous educators in my new province.

I fully confess that I am a tech-geek, and thus always brought technology into the classroom with my students. As soon as I got my hands on my first SMART product – I was a convert – and never taught without one again! I was fortunate to be part of several technical trials with SMART – including the SMART Table, which I enjoyed using primarily with my Grade One students.

I spent some time as an Education Technology Consultant and developed my passion for bringing technology into the hands of kids & helping teachers to maximize the tech tools within their schools.

I also love sports, movies and am a classically trained singer.
