Blog Awards - Paying it Forward - (10-05-2010)

There's a wonderful initiative that's been started within the blogosphere -- sort of a "Pay it Forward" action to recognize blogs on a variety of topics.

blog-award1-122x150

Last week I was flattered to be featured on two separate blog award lists:

I hold both of these people (and their blogs) in high esteem and am extremely humbled that I made their blog award lists! They definitely make my list (although my interpretation of the rules is that I have to come up with a new "top 10" so they aren't actually listed below! lol)

In keeping with the theme of passing this award on, here is my list blogs that I'm now forwarding this award on to.  For those who receive this award, there are a few rules that I ask you follow:

1. Copy and Display the picture of the award given to you.

2. Link back to the blog that nominated you.

3. Nominate 10 different blogs..

4. Inform the people you have nominated so they can continue this 'pay it forward' chain of blog appreciation!

All of the following blogs, and their authors, address issues and ideas in education in some way, shape or form.  Some are funny, others insightful and others offer amazing links to fantastic education resources.  Despite their variances in theme, all of them have made valuable contributions to my online PLN and I am a better person for having known them! (whether in real-life or just in the Twitterverse/Blogsphere)

Without further ado, here are my nominations for this award:

1. Free Tech 4 Teachers by Richard Byrne (@rmbyrne)

2. It's Not All Flowers and Sausages by Mrs. Mimi (@MrsMimiTeaches)

3. iLearn Technology by Kelly Tenkely (@ktenkely)

4. Brenda Dee's Daily Learning by Brenda Dyck (@bdyck)

5. Synthesizing Education by Aaron Eyler (@Aaron_Eyler)

6. The Pursuit of Technology Integration Happiness by Michael Zimmer (@MZimmer557)

7. The Whiteboard Blog by Danny Nicholson (@dannynic)

8. iTeach by Andrew Marcinek (@andycinek)

9. Teacher Reboot Camp by Shelly Terrell (@ShellTerrell)

10. Pretty Freaky by Elizabeth Collins (@ecollins8)

Again, thank you to Nick Provenzano (@thenerdyteacher) and Emily Starr (@StarrMatica) for the shout out!

And for those whom I've just nominated, please be sure to pass on the love :)

Vanessa

Thank you, thank you for including iLearn Technology on your list. It is an honor to be listed next to such inspirational educators and bloggers (yourself included)!

A classroom educator for 10 years, I’m now thrilled to be working full time training teachers and helping them integrate technology into their classrooms.

Originally from Calgary, I’m thrilled to be living and working in British Columbia and starting to get to know the fabulous educators in my new province.

I fully confess that I am a tech-geek, and thus always brought technology into the classroom with my students. As soon as I got my hands on my first SMART product – I was a convert – and never taught without one again! I was fortunate to be part of several technical trials with SMART – including the SMART Table, which I enjoyed using primarily with my Grade One students.

I spent some time as an Education Technology Consultant and developed my passion for bringing technology into the hands of kids & helping teachers to maximize the tech tools within their schools.

I also love sports, movies and am a classically trained singer.
